    Fape testlab

    Hi folks!
I posted a thread a week or so ago about my new yellow 'Bape' G Shock which had just arrived from ebay and which was totally fake as explained to me by hoochy.
Insensed by being duped in such a way (that and having a monster hangover after attending a wedding the day before) I decided to conduct a few tests on the said 'Bape', the first being a 3 metre drop test onto a hard (concrete) surface, this resulted in 3 of the 4 buttons flying off in such a way that I can still only find 1 of the buttons.
Test 2 was to immerse the 'Bape' in a sinkful of cold tap water with a dash of seasoning added for flavour (table salt) the display on the 'Bape' did not last 10 seconds before going blank, not very good considering this particular watch was advertised as being water resistant to 200m. Not being totally satisfied with this test I decided to leave the watch under water for a week before carrying out a few 'benchtests' of my own design......
After the water test, note the brown substance floating around inside:

I dont hold much hope for this watch now...

3 and a half turns on the vice handle to crack the crystal, at this point the vice was too tight to turn by hand so I got a big wrench and turned it another 3 times just for good measure

Now I insert it side on for much the same treatment...

Side on in the vice, which squeezed the digital part out onto the floor, one half of the strap came off too:

And finally, the best and probably the only good thing about a Fape is that you get supplied a nice ziplock bag to but the remains of the watch and the other 'merchandise' that comes with it, pretty handy!
Theres' only one place this is going...

The only place these imitations should be:

Out of curiosity, was the crystal mineral glass or plastic?

Seriously Lex I would not give £1 for this watch given half the chance again, absolute rubbish but the unfortunate part about it all is that I watched a fape identical to the tested one going for just under £150! on Ebay last week.
They will sure know about it if they decide to take a bath/shower whilst wearing it lol!

The uninformed and ignorant will pay good money for these fakes and never know what they have. If it's a poor quality watch, they will think that all Casio's are like this. Not a good endorsement for Casio.

I'm still rather puzzled by the amount of positive feedback the sellers are getting.
