    Father & Son G-Shocks & A Packaging Mystery???

My 10 year old son asked for a new G-Shock for his 10th birthday. This is his 3rd G, and his 7th watch. He seems to have been bitten by the watch bug at an early age. (however could that have happened?)

With his input, I decided on a DW-6900CS-1CR AKA "The ZOMBIE Slayer".

After some searching for a good price, I found a seller with 2 soooooo...

They arrived quickly, and are absolutely awesome, "especially the green glow" <~~ per my son.

The only question I have is when we opened the box my son tossed me one, and he startd to open the other, when I noticed the boxes were different sizes, and shapes. Now I've gotten G's in the wrong packaging before, and wasn't to dismayed, as my boy hasn't quite gotten the boxes, papers, hangtags part yet. However mine came in a box with a G tin, and his came in a standard G black box.

The sticker designations on the outside of the boxes are different, yet when I search them they appear to be the same watch. Mine was stickered DW-6900CS-1CR and my sons was stickered DW-6900CS-1DR can anyone shed any light on the difference????
Thanks, and here are a few pics...

My first father & son wrist shot.

I absolutly LOVE the Zombie bro. Nice pick for you and your son. Twin G's....nuttin' better IMO.

Wonderful shots, but a slight mystery nonetheless on the packaging situation.

    Cheers to the new piece!!

Congratulations, mate! Two cool Gs for two cool dudes. Not sure what the story is with the different packaging, bit weird that... Anyway, you get the tin, that's the main thing. Enjoy!

From what I know of Casio`s Protrek range, the difference is the watches is they were originally destined for different markets, VDR is for the international, VER for Europe etc

Congratulations on the purchase, how much did you get them for? I'm just curuios because on the g-shock website they are 89usd, cheaper than the regular mudman series which are 99 on the website, but i went to a few stores earlier today, they were actually more expensive than the mudman (55usd store price) watches at around 110usd.
