Finally liberated my Pathfinder from the Crappy Casio Band

A few days ago I got a great condition Casio Pathfinder PAW-5000 Analog/Digital

I had wanted this model for years. Sadly it was plagued with the same crappy and painful strap that is on the PRW 2500, PRW 3500 and other models of Protrek/Pathfinder. The band itself is not bad but those stupid feet that are attached to the underside of the band which help it not to slide around make the watch unwearable for me.

I decided to pay a visit to my watchmaker today and one of the watches i brought along was the Pathfinder. I had him remove the band and locktite the screws and bar together(they are never coming back off again and I am never going back to a rubber strap) and then put a 22mm nato strap on it.

The watch looks good and wears great on the nato.

it is currently on a nicely made denim band that i picked up a while back but will be going on a orange and gray nato from Barton watch strap company which matches the watch.

Re: Finally liberated my Pathfinder from the Crappy Casio Band

With my PAW-2000-1 I had the same issue with the strap wings. I found them quite uncomfortable and constantly pulling arm hairs, so I switched to a NATO strap.

I used to have a Barton gray and orange (they call it "smoke and pumpkin") strap on my Citizen BJ2128-05E. Is this the one you're getting?

Yes it is smoke and pumpkin

I thought the orange and black one they also offer was a bit over the top. But the smoke and pumpkin one easily matches the orange part of the dial and the smoke color of the case.
