Finding the manufacture date of vintage Casio F-8.

    Hi Guys,
    I have a vintage Casio F-8.
I purchased this in December 1979.
Just fitted a new battery and it's working perfectly.
I would like to know when it was manufactured, it's serial No is 452917.
Is it possible to find out when my watch was manufacured, from this number??
    Thanks.

If Casio was using "modern" numbering system back then, it could be May 1974.

Please excuse my imperfect English :)

Thanks for you help, however, i think this must be wrong.
I purchased the F-8 brand new and i can't imagine it was five years old.
Anyone else have any ideas how to decipher the serial number???
