    Picture Flexofiel's DW-5025D (modemburner)

Last period was a kind of busy for me, but this thread is not about my job; see for yourself....

Finally I received my 5025 (many thanks to Ebayer AdvancedTime):

No Transformer stories this time, but simple pics only:

    Overview:

    Gold coloured screws and buttons:

On this pic you can clearly see the sinkholes in the bezel:

The mirror effect: (the digits are 'applied' on the mirror)

I use all my watches; don't have a pic of it, but after a swim you can clearly see the water behind the bezel. It takes a few hours of wristtime to make it all vaporize. The clear resin is also a bit softer than my black G's: very comfortable and more flexible, but the bezel fitting is therefore a bit loose. I expect sand, water and dust can easily accumulate behind the bezel. Don't know about yellowing, but I expect lifetime of the resin is much shorter (yellowing/cracking: it feels less solid)

    Wristshot:

Screwback with 25th anniversary logo (designed by Eric Haze):

Made in Thailand.... but it's a classic and anniversary model. Much cooler if 'made in Japan'

On the back the edge of the bezel is a bit sharp:

Very difficult to capture (just like the mirroreffect), but this is the collest EL I've ever seen. IRL the effect is a bit clearer:

    Specs:
*Casio G-Shock DW-5025D Ocean Grey 25th anniversary model
*Don't know if a nice dogtag and/or box are included: I just received it in a cardboard envelop
    *Module: 1545
    *time/day/date/alarm/countdown/stopwatch
    *price payed: $100 excl s/h/taxes (s/h: $35, taxes: $65), total: $200

    PROS:
    +mirror display
    +looks
    +soft resin
    +screwback/steel casing
+feared that the display was hard to read but no problems here
+it's a little heavier than my other G's: therefore it feels a lot more solid
    +very neat EL
+did I mention the ultra cool mirroreffect?

    CONS:
    -no cool box
-kind of sharp edges on the back of the bezel
-screwback: I think a battery change is much easier on a 'normal-four-point-screw' back plate.
-the strap retainer is matte instead of clear
-accumulation of dust/water behind the bezel is clearly visible
    -durability of resin parts?

    My conclusion:
-Get this watch if you're a G fan and WEAR it. It deserves it to be worn!
It has a few downsides (for me), but this is one of a kind.
I think it also looks very cool on a black strap/bezel.

    Hi Flex,

Cool review and a surprising conclusion. The customs costs are often a real killer. It is mostly the half of the total duties. I've been there a lot.

I still am tempted to buy one, though I need money now for other things (last Friday my girlfriend's new bicycle was stolen from the back garden by some kind of chatting trick. Looks like proffesional work and no money from the insurance this way).

    Cheers,

    Sjors

Nice watch! I wish you to keep time of great events with it!

I like the bezel very much! I'm not a fan of mirror display and gold metal parts though..they look a little "kitsch" to me...Casio can make better looking anniversary editions if they change the gold parts with real silver or titanium IMO.

I don't like gold either, but in this case I can appreciate it.
My conclusion seems to be a little odd because of the drawbacks, but the watch is just so cool it doesn't matter at all.

Yes i believe the same..its a collectible after all, not something you buy (or wear ?) everyday...

I wear all my watches; everyday another one, no particular order.
Don't care if they become worn.

Ok, generally this is the spirit of spending money on goods..to use them..

Personally though, when something tends to decay easily, i don't use it too much, some times i never touch it and i know this is not so good, especially for a watch. So i admire your courage with that kind of stuff. The most important is to be happy with the things we buy even if we regularly abuse them...

By the the time they decay, there will be other cool G's...

    Excellent pics and review.

    .

By hook or by crook, I will own one of these G-Shocks!

I mean, how can I resist a 25th Ann. G shod in Jelly?!?
