    Question Forum playing up again

When I try to view the latest posts “WHAT’S YOUR LATEST PURCHASE?” or “Casio G-Shock In The Nature” I see there are unread items.

Size: 135.5 KB

When I then follow the link to What’s Your Latest Purchase and then hit the View First Unread link, (& after the page is fully loaded) I have to scroll down to see the the latest item which is a post from a week ago

Similarly with Casio G-Shock In The Nature thread I’m seeing a post from a week ago as the latest post

    Name: AB633DFE-0E4D-4245-841C-01586CAD63F1.jpeg
Views: 57
Size: 88.6 KB

Then when going back to the main f17 page I see that there are still unread items

I noticed a similar issue with the “Black & Red G-Shock GW-B5600HR-1 Heritage Series” thread a few days ago. Now that seems ok.

Yep. There was another database glitch earlier today. On some threads I can't see the latest posts. On other threads (not on f17) it seems that all posts in the past week are missing. Not good.

Too many of you buying too many watches and posting pics of them would cause the wus servers to crash jk jk jk.

    Re: Forum playing up again

I've been a member of this forum for almost a decade, and without doubt, technically, it's the most fragile forum I contribute to. Even recently, I don't get email alerts for subscribed updated threads, and to this day still won't send them to my registered address so I have a convoluted system in place via a 'junk email' address to now get them. It use to really annoy me, and I'd instantly report every fault I came across, but I'm older & wiser now (?). For 3 years the 'double post' has existed, never properly fixed.. When I come across a fault, I just move on to another activity in life. I now just accept that this forum is simply quirky, and with each passing fault, I just smile...

It's not really playing up "again" as there's almost always something wrong with how this site runs.

The owners would do a service to participating members and to themselves too, if they gave this worthy site up and sold it to a dedicated, professional outfit that can handle an operation like this.

After all, what's the point of proving time and again, on daily basis, that you're not up to the task for years on end?

Agreed. And the this forum software/system is used by tons of other forums, and it works reliably.

The fact that IMGUR BBCode images don't show up is really lame, that should be fixable. Then people wouldn't have to put their photos on the forum server, every time they want to post the same photo. That takes up a lot of space.

I would imagine there are members here who are qualified to help run a site like this, and they'd be happy to do so as volunteers. With a handful of folks it wouldn't be too big a burden on anyone.

And I'm 100% not qualified haha.
