Exclamation Frog × Frog × Frog × Frog

Yesterday afternoon I had to babysit my 1y5m daughter, and when she was taking her nap, I finally made some comparo shots of my Frogs. Maybe this can be of service for those who are thinking about getting a Frog but don't know which one to get. My models are the DW-9900-1C, GW-200Z-1VDR "Final Edition", GF-8250BK-1 (I moded it from a 9DR) and GF-1000-1DR.

But first of all, some stats:
    1) 9900: Ti case, 47,8 mm (16 mm high), 70 g
    2) 200: Ti case, 49,6 mm (17,9 mm high), 83 g
    3) 8250: SS case, 52 mm (18,5 mm high), 114 g
    4) 1000: SS (DLC) case, 53,2 mm (18,1 mm high), 174 g

And here's what they look like:

    9900 > 200 > 8250 > 1000

    1000 > 8250 > 200 > 9900

    DW-9900-1C

    DW-9900-1C

    GW-200Z-1VDR

    GW-200Z-1VDR

    GF-8250BK-1

    GF-8250BK-1

    GF-1000-1DR

    GF-1000-1DR

    Which one do I prefer?
That's a tough one. Between the 1000 and the 8250 I honestly can't pick the best one to wear, they're too equivalent. The 9900 is the smallest, and therfor "wears small" on the wrist (compared to the others), but since mine is on it's old original straps, it feels a bit "light" - not in weight, but the resin is much more broken-in then the others. If it was on new and more firm resin I'm sure my impression would be a bit different. So in terms of wrist wear, I think if I had to choose only one it would be the 200, since it's not too big and has a nice feel to it.

Sweet Frog collection Luciano. The 1000 is my only one at the moment.

Nice set. I sold my 1000 because it was too big and heavy. My 8200 is my favorite (sold the 8250 also because it was too heavy), but the 200 gets some time also. Just bought a 9900 and spare resin. It'll probably be here in a couple/few weeks.

What I find curious is that everybody and his cousin raves about the 1000 (and to a lesser extent, the 8250 too), and the 200, 8200 and 9900 is never on the spotlight. But I never saw anybody saying that they sold their 200, 9900 or 8200 because it didn't work for them, like I constantly see happen with 1000 owners.
I guess the Frog has been victim of it's own success.
    Cheers!

I believe that every iteration after the 8200 has gotten worse (including the DW and GF 8250s). If you want to know why I feel this way, see my frog throwdown here: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f17/fro...-a-666994.html

Remains to be seen how I feel about the 9900...
