    FROGMAN Sleep Mode?

Am I reading this correctly from the 2422 manual?

"When the Sleep Mode is turned on, the display of the watch turns off automatically to conserve battery power when the you leave it in an area where lighting is dim for about seven or eight days without performing any button operation"

So, anyone ever see a FROGMAN go to Sleep?

    Re: FROGMAN Sleep Mode?

I have to confess something.... I've never read my frog's manual. Or any other G manual for that matter.

Here's the thing.... Only when I got my Riseman did my MB frog taste darkness for more than a day or two.

You could just imagine my reaction when I pulled out my frog after about a week inside its tin...

Thank God it was only asleep. Funny thing is... learned about it from this lovely forum. AND still not from its manual. So yes, our dear G frogs sleep; if kept in the dark for quite some time.

    Gotta read 'em manuals!
    best regards,

    Kirk M.

On regular G-shocks they go to sleep in 1 hour and thirty minutes (I think) and the Frogman goes to sleep after 8 days because it's a diver watch and you would not want it to sleep while your under the dark murky water...

I was going to post a separate thread about this, but may as well post here as it's a similar issue..

Here's what the manual says (Module 3063):

"When turned on the Power Saving function enters a sleep state automatically whenever the watch is left in an area where it is dark for a certain period"

    OK. Then we get this:

"Wearing the watch inside of clothing can cause it to enter the sleep state"

    ...followed by:

"The watch will not enter the sleep state between 6:00 AM and 9:59 PM..."

Hm. Mine definitely enters the sleep state after 9:59 PM. So, presumably this is the ONLY time the watch will enter the sleep state. Right?

I unboxed 2 Frogmen today to charge them, they had been asleep for approx 18 months, and still both on 1 bar of battery too.
    Real men don't need instructions.

Nuts!!!! I agree on the part of a delayed sleep time due to diving, though.

yup i've seen my DB Froggie sleep once, dont know though for how many days before going to sleep-mode (the manual says 7-days)

but for the other models, it takes only a couple of hours for them to go to sleep

    the Froggie has insomnia!
