    G-2900 band bezel color mismatch?

I just bought a G-2900F-1 (black). When I got home, I took a closer look at it and noticed that, although the watch does look new, the color of the resin bezel looks slightly more dark black and less “flat” than the strap. Is this normal for this model?

My concern is that the store gave me a display model that got enough time in the store window that the very beginnings of “resin rot” set in which makes the resin look more black and shiny. It's not like some of my older well-worn G's, but it is enough for me to notice that the band and the bezel aren't an exact match.

Or maybe, the the slight color mis-match might be normal for this model's band/bezel. I'd like to get some info before going back to the store for an exchange.

    Thanks

That's quite obvious difference there. While I don't have the watch, but I see that watch very often in stores. I don't remember seeing one with that much difference between the watch case and the band. There's a dull black version of this watch, the G2900F-8V. Another possibility is that the seller changed the watch band to that version's band.

I saw this on several Gs.

The problem in plastic coloration is complex.
Beside the color of the material itself there are factors like reflectivity and surface structure.
So a different surface structure can let parts made from the same material looking very different.
In your pic you can see a rather shiny bezel and a rather textured band.

My expectation is that the color mismatch will fade when the band becomes shiny (worn).

I guess I'll be taking a trip back to the store.

Maybe Somebody could make a list of all the things to check out on a new G-Shock before leaving the store or ordering online (this issue, alarms working, alarm loudness, strap comfort, lume, button resistance, etc. Sort of a G-Shock buyer's checklist.

I would say its had a new band put on it like watch_geek suggests. Is the band a genuine Casio one?(Casio stamp on the buckle).

Re: G-2900 band bezel color mismatch?

I have a Square that I bought resin for and have had it for over a year this way. The other month I just realized the resin color is slightly different between the strap and bezel. It does not bother me. It is less noticeable in real life.

I have a G2900F-8V which is dark grey and bought a new original band this month after 5 years of abuse. There is almost no difference in color between module and band. You should return it.
