    g-5600 died?

I think my G-5600 died. It shows full power but the light will not work and it says "recover" when I try to use the light. :(

It was really one of my favorites in the rotation.

I have been reading this is very common. If you search the forum for g-5600 problems or the module number you will see some possible troubleshooting steps.

I just bought one of these...I got my hopes up, but my soldering iron ready

Yes, I'm afraid that if you search the archive you'll find this is not uncommon.

You can try changing the CTL1616 battery.

However, I wouldn't put much hope on this though.

Your best bet would be to send it to Casio.

I was very much into the look of the 5600, I own the 5025 and the 5600e. I will get mine next week, and will keep my fingers crossed. Does anyone have one of these that is still alive? and when did you get it?

IMHO,it's best for you to go for the GW-M5600 instead.

    Those G-5600, GW-300 & G-2800 have got faulty modules, I am afraid...

    Mike's advice is sound.

I wouldn't entertain another G-5600. The only G-SHOCK, indeed the only Casio product, that has ever let me down.

The GW-M5600 is cheaper and better specified, anyway.
