    Question G-5600 or DW-5600??

    What do you think?

    Solar G-5600 or non-solar classic DW-5600?

The only diff I see are that the solar version has world time and the classic does not.

And I could be hallucinating but when I tried the green display G-5600 the buttons seem to be "sunken in" quite deep.

In my opinion (everyone has a different opinion of course!) is to go for the GLX/GLS/G/GW 5500.

i would pick the DW because i want the time displayed even in stopwatch mode (module 1545)

Well, as ever, there are some things that one does better than the other and that's exactly how Casio wants to keep it.
If you want time in all modes, CDT to the exact second and a very versatile single alarm, then the 1545 module of the DW5600 is for you. However, if you want world time, multiple alarms and the potential convenience of solar then the G5600 is for you. It's all about compromises and priorities I suppose.
For what it's worth, I have 4x 1545 module G-Shocks in my collection and a G5600 incoming. I like 'em all really for all sorts of different reasons.
    Get both!

First of all, they have a different size, the G5600 is slightly smaller.
The time is shown in CDT and STW in the DW, not in the G.
But other than that like said by Pelican, the G5600 has several advantages over the DW :
-comfortable time and alarm setting forward and backward (instead of forward only)
-solar should run longer than cr2016 (although solar needs minimum babysitting like not letting the watch lay in a drawer all year)
-several alarms, including the snooze (vs 1 alarm without snooze)
-BUT there is the possibility to set the alarm on a specific date on the DW, not on the G.
    -world time, with dst
    -mute option
-possibilty to enable auto EL when tilting the watch
-auto calendar until 2099 (instead of 2039)

i prefer the solar Gs cos it means i can use the illuminator with no worries of draining the battery

Thanks for all the replies. It seems solar is the way to go.

I'm kind of leaning towards a non-conventional G-5600 like the G-5600B-1 with a green face. But I'll think about it because that green face and glossy body don't sit too well with me.

So perhaps I will wait awhile more and see if Casio launches anything that I will like.

I'm actually looking at 5500 series too. But the line up is HORRIBLE. Purple and pink background??? Come on...

The 5500 is nice too. The size is big, actually.
