G-7900MS-1A, gone extinct or critically endangered ?

Back in February when I was doing research about G Shocks I stumbled onto Cal.45's tribute thread to the 7900MS. in some strange inexplicable way that model really appealed to me even though it wasn't the most stealth matte G available. Unfortunately I was a few years too late and I realized that it was going to be difficult in finding one. I ending up getting a G9300 a week later.

As the months passed by I acquired 2 more Gs (a G5600E and G6900) but the 7900 remained in my mind. I knew that if I were to try on a 7900 I will most probably get one.

So last week I finally tried on a 7900. it was the basic black one with the red button. A G never fitted my wrist so well before. I'm definitely getting a 7900.

There are 3 7900 models I like, the 7900-1, 7900-3 and the 7900MS-1A. the MS model being my favourite and top priority.

I did a few quick searches and I have not been able to find a seller or retailer that has it in stock. the 1A seems to be the hardest to find. which makes me assume that the 7900MS models have been discontinued.

Anyone have any idea about the current status of the 7900MS models ?

If the MS models have truly been discontinued, I will probably get the 7900-1

the MS series had a fairly short life and were discontinued more than 3 years ago. The MS-1B and MS-3 still come up on ebay, but are hard to find in NEW OLD STOCK condition. The 1A for some reason is much rarer and I don't even see them used. The other rare MS is the GW-7900MS-3 DARK GREEN with orange lettering and is solar/atomic.

IMO the G-7900MS-1B blue varient is the rarest of the 3.

I can't understand why Casio decided to give the 7900MS range such a short run. good module+stealth looks, seems like a sure win combo.

At this point I think the black and red 7900-1 will be the one i'm getting.

I've seen more pics of the 1B posted in f17 than the 1A though.
After doing some searches in f17, i have come to realize how rare the 7900MS models are. there just isn't many threads or pics on them.

took me about 3 years to find a 1b in good condition and for the price i wanted to pay (actually got it here on wus :D )

even tho theyre quite scarce they havent ever really been that popular, same with the ga100's with the similar bands. i personally think theyre great and have a good look about them

its def. a waiting game, good luck!
