I just completed a 3 day hike climb and did the presidential traverse in the White Mountains of NH. It had been YEARS (like 14 or 15) since I have done this. And it was always done with Topo Maps and a reliable compass (which I still brought). I was surprised at how often I used the watch compass to get a periodic reading just to confirm my orientation / direction. It was much easier than dropping a pack and pulling out the real compass and map (which I still did often enough, but not nearly as much as I used to), because it was so convenient to take a quick reading while walking.
No watch specific pics, but here's a couple of scenic shots. Enjoy!
