    G-9300 vs. GR-8900

I think I've narrowed things down (although I'd love the GW9400, but can't afford it). Anyone have a pic that shows a size comparison of the g-9300 and GR8900? I'm new to the Casio-family -- I have like 10 posts .......I've always had Timex Expeditions.....and the bigger size of the g-shocks is scaring me off a bit. With no G-shock shops around (except Walmart) any help here is appreciated as I'll be buying through the mail. For example, I was about to get a gw7900, but luckily saw in a video that it was quite a bit bigger than the g-9300. I need all the basic functions: countdown timer, 5 alarms (I use these to wake me up usually set 5 minutes apart on my Timex), etc. I'm switching to Casio for the Solar power. Cool functions I'd like to have depending on cost would the the tide/moon/temp/compass, but don't know how accurate these are and if it's worth the money.

So, a watch on the smaller side is better...... I don't want a beast of a watch on my 7.5" wrist (I'm 5"9"). Thanks for any input/advice.

If you have been using a Timex watch as an alarm clock, you may be disappointed with the alarm volume and tone. I use a Timex myself as an alarm and it can be heard downstairs. I do not have the 9300 series. I did try the GR-8900 at a JC Penny's earlier this year and was very disappointed in the volume. It was very low, even compared to my other solar G-Shocks.

I had a 7900 and an 8900, and currently have a 9300. The 7900 felt smaller than the Mudman to me, so I'm not sure how the video you saw showed it the other way around. Honestly, all of those ones you listed are large, so if you want a smaller size try looking at the G(W)-6900's, GW-M5610's, GW-2310's, etc.

Try to find a Macy's, they usually have a good selection.

Thanks for the GW-2310 lead..... I looked into this one and it might do....... Anyone know about the alarm and how loud it is compared to an expedition or just in general?

All modern Casio's alarm's are going to be weaker than any Timex alarm.
