    Which G to Get... humm..

    Hello G-Shockers,

I'll be honest, I don't frequent this forum often but having recently gotten into High End Quartz and accuracy. I decided I'd like to get an atomic watch, and one with tough solar while I'm at it. I've found a seller on the 'bay who sells reconditioned watches for good prices. He has 2-3 models in particular that I'm interested in, and I'm wondering if any of you all have any wrist shots or comments on these watches or their modules. Thank you.

    I like the first one.

But I have no idea what features are in it.

Sorry to say this but I'd personally get neither...

I just don't dig the metal band Gs... metal bands in general don't do well in "desk diving" environment... I preffer digiral / rasin models myelf. Plus, Gs tend to be bulky so they look awkward when combined with metal case and band. Du not, when it comes to this this is just my opinion.

Still, simply pick the one that you like and don't forget to post pics once it arrives.

    P.S.

You did mention that you're in "high quartz accuacy". Not sure if G is for you if you're in that mode... Atomic, depending where you live, will not neceseraly sync every night. That might frustrate you. When it's not syncing accuracy will probably be +5 sec a month (usually). While this is WAY more that most of us ever need it's a far cry from some Citizen models that have +5 sec PER YEAR accuracy. Just a heads up mate... don't want you to get dissapointed here...

    i would get a GW810D instead

    - multi band 5 atomic
    - 1000 hr chrono
    - buttons are easy to operate
    - good size and comfortable
    - easy to read LCD (for a the reverse LCD)

if i had to choose between the 4, then i would go with GW610DA (the first one), cause at least i read the numbers in all modes all the times

(with the analog/digital with LED, you can't see the LCD in the dark even with the LED on)

GW810D is not a bad choice even thou style wise it's not everyones cup of tea. As for the ana digits : yes, what you said it's true but note the two things:

    - LED in dark is REAL COLL thing to see on most ana / digi models.
    - analog hands will cover digital hands ocasionally. Not an issue to some, frustrating to others (like myself).

Plus, weren't there reports recently about some issues with ana digi models (like AWG1200). Also AWG1200 has recently dissapeared off the Casio site.
    Just wasn't a big seller I guess.

One more thing, in real life some are finding those "digital" numbers a bit hard to see... I have 1200 and I see where that complaint is comming from. They're a lot smaller in practice than it looks at the pics. Issue for some, not for others.
(I really dig the blue one... ;) )

It isn't so much that I'm an accuracy freak but I think it would be cool to have an atomic watch. I live on the East Coast of the US so I'm not 100% sure I'll pick up signals as I don't know the extent of the WVVB. I like metal bands all together, that's why all of those are on metal instead of rubber/resin. I owned one G-Shock but never liked it on resin so it was flipped sometime later. I also think the blue ana-digi is cool, my eyesight at this time is still pretty good so until that changes, a small LCD won't bother me.

Than you're at the right spot, picking up the right G.

While I don't know what raisn G did you had it's worth noticing that rasin on newer Gs like Mudman or Gulfman is dramatically improved. You'll no longer get that "stifness" that even I didn't like very much on some Gs.

Whatever you pick make sure to drop by this forum and post teh pics.

    Good luck!
