G-Lide - what exactly is it?

I assume it's something to do with the strap but what aspect of it makes it a G-Lide?

Nice one! I believe the distinguishing features of the G-Lide's have been the tide graph as well as the glossy straps.

Some also have nylon staps. I believe 'G-Lide' originally has something to do with wave-surfing. So it's meant to be a line of G-Shock watches for surfing and other water sport activities.

I believe G-Lide series was created to associate with extreme
sports such as wave surfing, snowboarding, and etc.

So, it's nothing to do with the strap since there are many that are different, the cases are different, they are all WR, and different movement modules.

To be honest, I couldn't see where mine in the original post would be a surfing type watch but I'll take their word for it

I think I'm more confused now than when I asked the original question!!
