    Exclamation G Shock?

    Hello,

I'm new to G-Shock. I purchased this watch for work purposes... only to find out it says G-Shock on it. I don't even know what G-Shock is... Hopefully this watch doesn't break on me. It seems to be constructed well, and for $40 CAD Used. I think its fair. I don't even know what model this watch actually is. All i know is that the clasp says Casio and underneath it says Japan. I like the design on the watch. Now is it true, that there are in fact fake G shocks out there?Sorry, I sound like a total noob here. Attached are the pictures.

Hi and welcome to the forum!
There are fakes out there but most of them are spotted fairly easily. Yours is definitely genuine and it's a GLX-5600 - the model number is on the back. The number next to it is the module number and you can use it to download the manual from the Casio homepage - it's the number right next to the word "Casio" on the back.
    Manuals can be downloaded here:
    Timepieces(Watches) - Manuals - CASIO

    cheers, Sedi

    Sorry for the late response!

Thanks for the reply Sedi. I'm trying to set my home city code as Toronto and I know now that it is under YTO, however I can't seem to get it. UTC is at -5. G Shock is really confusing.

Use NYC for your home city code instead and use DST ( on or off ) accordingly. Also, it is helpful to double check the month, day, and year are correct.

Thanks for the useful tip Chrisek!

I double checked the date, and the day was off by one.

Still getting used to this, but so far so good! Hopefully I don't get addicted.

Don't worry about that, there are no addicts around here, none at all, never been seen, the very thought! 'G's are perfectly safe to be around. Believe me, honestly, it's true, wibble, wibble, wibble!
