G Shock for 9 year old?

Well guys, its my boy's 9th birthday in a few weeks and he has indicated that he would like a g shock. I have done a bit of research and have seen the obvious choice of baby g's however being a boy he might object to the word baby on his watch. So, can anyone recommend a g which is smaller than the average and might be suitable. I have no preference for functions as he wont need anything too complicated. Thanks in advance

If it was me I'd get him a DW-5600E. It's inexpensive and a square so it will probably fit his arm best of any of them.

    I like mine a lot.

    A DW5600E is a good choice.

My son (8 years old) wanted a watch for Christmas. That was all he talked about for weeks.

Then all of a sudden he was no longer interested. He moved back to LEGO's for his obsession. I forgot how us boys would move on to the "next thing" and no longer have an interest in what we wanted in the past. LOL

I would also suggest 5600 series... lots of color variations and style, from all black to very colorfull. And you can trim the strap, so there won't be long tail sticking out if he doesn't like that.

i personally think you better got a budget casio instead... they are durable, affordable, got acrylic crystal that shatter proof and a great introduction to digital wristwatch world..
my recomendation are dw-290 (abit big but its almost a G with $25 pricetag in amazon), AE-1000, W-800h, or even an F-91w the terrorist watch. (all baout less than $15 -$20)

but if it must be a G-shock and your son got thick wrist, i think like everybody recommend: G5600e (smaller than dw-5600e), DW-5600e or DW-9052 are great options with simple but highly usefull features and they're solidly build.

    goodluck buddy.

Maybe... Glx5600-4. Just bought one for my 10 year old. I didn't get it yet though. My son tried my Gw5000, which is the same size as the DW5600E and I think the Gw5000 looks a little bit big for his wrist. I'll send a picture. . Size comparison

The G-2900 wears small too, almost like a Baby G:

10 year battery, nicely featured module. A great little watch that can be picked for 60 bucks or so online!
    Happy hunting.
