    G-Shock Display Question

I am a recent convert from Swiss German watches to Gs. I purchased an atomic/solar (I think the model is GW -700A) last summer and it is the only watch I wear.

I love the atomic/solar and auto light features. I also require a functional chrono and like to wear the watch in the water at the beach. This one fits the bill on all counts.

The only thing that I wish it had was a larger display. With my poor eyes I have trouble reading the small date and even the contrast on the large (time) display is occasionally a bit difficult to read.

Are there any atomic/solar G's with larger displays? I have thought about going to an analog/digital but the digital display on these is even smaller.

Any suggestions on G's with the best size and/or contrast displays?

    Thanks

I agree with you. I can only see most of the functions clearly with my glasses on.. but my other watches.. particularly divers have much clearer displays with better contrast. I like all the features of my G's but I have too much trouble seeing the hands or digits without glasses. Old age is tough.. it happens to all of us eventually.

I think an easy solution is simply brighter paint or brighter lume on the hands on the analog dials and slightly larger digits on the digital displays.

Yes, there are digital watches with larger and higher contrast displays.

But, are there any G's with better displays? Does the GLX 5500 have a larger display?

I think some of the Pathfinders do, but they are just a little too much watch...I really don't need the ABC functions but probably could live with it if the watches weren't so darn big.

    This recent thread might help.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

Have a look at GL-151. The digits are at least 2x as tall as those in the Frogman.

The digits on my MTG-910 are physically slightly larger and thicker than those on for instance my Protrek PAW 1500 which is pretty impressive.

The GW-5600J has nice big bold digits, and it's a iconic g-shock design.
Solar/Atomic (if you live in US or Japan) Auto EL, World Time, 4 alarms...
