    G Shock display size

Would someone be able to tell me if the size of the digits on the GXW-56 are larger than on the 6900. I am getting old eyes and the numbers on the 6900 are a bit small for me.

Is there a thread that talks about the display sizes of the various g shocks? Appreciate it.

There isn't a specific thread, but no. They're not larger. The 56 is huge in all respects other than the display.

For significantly larger digits, you need to look a the Protrek/Pathfinder range. Here are some pics of my current wear, the PRG-200. It's a league apart in legibility from any G-Shock that I have. Random people comment on it as having the largest display they've seen.

And you'll see that in a thread just a couple away, that even a $10 watch has bigger digits than the 56.

    Re: G Shock display size

Some Gs do have appreciably larger digits, although not as large as a PRG.

Three that come to mind (at least that I have) are:

The MTG 900, GW-600DU, and the G-7600. I'm sure there are others, but they don't beat the Protrek for digit size.

    Cheers,

Day and date are a bit larger on the GXW-56, time-digits are a bit smaller.
Only atomic clocks tell you what time it is - all others try to do so.

    Maine,

Could you give me more info on that PRG 200. I looked on amazon but they didn't have anything that looked like yours. That looks like a nice watch.

I have a PAW1300-1V (great display) but I don't care for the band.

    Thanks for the responses guys.

Check out the atomic Gulfman as it has the largest and clearest digit display of any G-shock I've seen/had. Comes in quite a few colours these days too.

    Hi,
the favourites in my collection when it comnes to digit size are the G-8000-1, GL-7500 (the standard G-7500 is also pretty good) and biggest of all - the G-3011 (but that one's out of production).

If you want big clear digits, consider the Casio SGW100, SGW200, SGW300 series. Large digits in an uncluttered, clear screen (especially the SGW100 - the only one of the three that has 200m WR).

For G's the G2900 has pretty good size digits for the time (the date and day though are a little tiny).
