    Interesting!

And once again im struggeling with the reason for metal bezels.
I see the collectors value and i own the GW-B5000, too.
But im not wearing it because the shiny metal bezel is just not as damage resistant then the rubber bezels of the standard G.
I consider steel bezels as "form over function".
    But those are nice.....

You see no pictures in my post?
Photobucket decided to lock my pics behind a 40$/month prescription service.
I used their services since 2009 so the most of my old threads have Photobucket pics inside.
If you stumble across one of those threads and want to see the pic, PM me and i will re-attach it.
What can we learn from all the lost information?

I was hopping they will release a GMW-B5000 with a resin bezel and band, a next generation GW-5000.

not sure why ppl make a fuss over steel being less damage resistant...
afterall it is a gshock, with modular parts... so if it gets dented etc u just change that part.
unlike with analog / mechanical watches where very likely u would need to change the whole case incurring a much larger cost.

Agreed. This is why in the long term, I’d rather have my GW-5000 than GMW-B5000 if I had to choose only one between the two.

I have one G Shock, a GW-M5610. I installed some Jays & Kays adapters for a NATO, and an AliExpress metal bezel. Why? I like NATOS. They're more comfortable, and you can easily change up the look of the watch in a few seconds. I got the metal bezel because I didn't want the watch to look like a cheap plastic watch. With the metal bezel it just looks way better IMO.

I agree the resin bezel is better for dissipating hits...but I'm just not that hard on it. I work at a desk. Occasionally go out to a site and walk around and look at stuff...I might bump it into a wall or something, but any watch can take that. On the weekends I try to get out on my road or MTB bike. A crash on the road bike is most likely to destroy a watch...hitting the asphalt at 20+mph isn't good for longevity of, well, anything haha. But I try really, really, really hard to avoid that, tho, it doesn't always work out.

Anyhow, I think it looks better. I wear it to work now, whereas I wouldn't have in the stock configuration. Besides, G Shock is just as much about form as they are about function - why else would there be so many color variations and whatnot?

    Some Audi Group B inspiration

So true, these watches are like legos.

I love the ability to change out a damaged bezel. I ordered a spare one for my gmw-b5000. Now I dont give a rat's a$$ about scratches.

Me too. Casio completely released the opposite: a resin cased watch with a metal bezel...??? Google translate must’ve borked when casio engineers were reading the forums.

But at the same time, i wonder if the bezels on these would fit my dw5030d?

Yes, this is what I’m hoping for as well!
