    G-Shock Moonlight Mode

At night when I awaken I sometimes want to check the time and reach for the illumination button and often press the wrong button on the G-Shock which switches the mode.

Noticed my Timex Ironman has a moonlight mode whereby any button will turn on the illumination.

Does any G-Shock have this night illumination feature?

what about auto el? I also experienced this fumbling with the buttons with my g5600e thats why my favorite now is the gw6900

My watch is an old GL-160, I'll check the manual to see if it has auto-EL. Thanks for the reply.

yes your gl-160 has auto-el, i think you press the light button for 5-6sec to activate it.

Yes the GL-160 has auto EL.
I also have a BGD140 Baby G (newer model) but it does not have auto EL. This is the watch I would really have liked to have auto EL on.

I also continue to be impressed with the Timex Ironman, its a very practical watch with a great set of features.

No, I do not think Casio has the equivalent to Timex's moonlight mode. It basically makes every button on the watch a light button, making setting the watch in the dark extremely easy.

For Casio watches, usually only 1 button is dedicated for the light and can not be changed. Also if button beep is enabled, every button press (other than the light button) will interrupt the light. You have to switch button tone to Mute, to allow button use during the short duration of EL/LED illumination.
