    G Shock newbie

I'm currently a student who is desperately strapped for cash, so I will need a watch that lasts without problems.

I am a bit confused by all the serial numbers of the G-Shocks. Most of them have very similar features, so it is hard to choose and understand the price differences.

But in short, I need something that

    • is Atomic Solar
    • nice look, not too heavy but not those ugly square ones
    • an alarm would be nice
    • under $50 preferred, shipped (to Canada) would be so much nicer
    • water and shock resistant (needless to say?)

outside that I'm really not requiring much.

Can someone point me to a couple of models that have those bare bones features? Or maybe help me understand why some G-Shocks are about triple the price of others? (It can't be the look lol)

Because the more expensive ones tend to have atomic solar, which isn't a bare bones feature.

You either need to raise the bar on what you're prepared to spend, or drop the atomic solar requirement.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...
