    G Shock Riseman vs. GW7900B-1 vs. G7900-1

Hey guys, I'm relatively new to watches and collecting, but I am an avid surfer and have been looking for a nice watch with a tide chart. The G Shocks really look nice and seem to be indestructible. I'm not looking for any crazy colors just black.

And before you say anything, I'm aware the Riseman doesn't have a tide chart, but it has the temp which is nice.

    Which would you recomend?

Both are great and a real must haves.
I use the 7900 when I go to the beach.
The tide chart is accurate for me.

Be advised that the G7900 is not an "atomic" watch. The GW9200 Riseman is the atomic counterpart to the GW7900. As my photo shows, the atomic feature really works.

Hey OV, the Riseman's still holding c. a buck thirty five. When ya' gonna order one?

You are a bad influence Bob! Haha
I bought both the Gw7900 and the GW9200 because of you.
I will post photos later when I get home.

How does the tide chart work on the GW7900B? Is it relative to how high the tide actually is since it is an atomic watch?

Out of the three, the GW-7900 looks best. I can't stand red buttons and accents on black watches, that's why I sold my GW-9200 and never got the standard G-7900.

Buttonswise the G-7900 and GW-7900 beat the GW-9200 (and almost any other G for that matter). The buttons are the best to operate which I have seen and feel to date. Besides atomic/solar, the G-7900 module is more advanced compared to the GW-7900.

Functionswise the GW-9200 is a step ahead of the others: I couldn't care less for the alti/baro/thermo thing and the 1.5sec. el-backlight is too short but it shows the current time in stopwatchmode and countown mode which is VERY important to me.

Batterywise I prefer anytime a reliable CR2025 (G-7900) over solar, which I do not have the best experience with. Atomic timekeeping is nice, but modern quartzwatches are precise enough for me, so I don't care about that feature either.

Conclusion: all three watches have their strenghts and weaknesses.
    Solution: get them all, lol

I just received my Riseman today, and all I can say is Pure Quality! The display is crisp, the buttons are great and time is visible with timer and stop watch mode. And of course, the baro and altimeter are big plus, since we regularly hike and mountain bike. I might consider the GW7900 one day, but the new Mudman or PRW2500 are next on the list.

Edit: I almost ordered 2 regular G7900s (blue and olive green), but prices went up suddenly.
