    G-Shock Specific Advice Request

    Greetings,

Normally I'm lurking in the SCO forum but today I need some advice from the G-Shock experts.

I'm in the market for a new sports watch. The G-Shock line interests me because of the legendary toughness and the dizzying choice of models and features. I've been searching the web and these forums but I'm more confused now than before I started . I'm hoping that if I provide some very specific criteria to the members of this forum you will help me chose a quality timepiece.

    Must-have features:
    1. Durable (with ability to replace bands as they break)
    2. Accurate (atomic OK but not a deal-breaker)
    3. At least 100m water resist (will be exposed to fresh and salt water)
    4. Countdown timer with auto repeat (must be able to run simultaneously with chronograph - important during bike races)
    5. At least one alarm, the louder the better
    6. Scratch-resistant display
    7. Good battery life (solar OK but not a deal-breaker)

    Nice-to-have features:
    1. Dual time zone display or ability to track two clocks (helpful for tracking race time and local time or when doing business with our work team in India)
    2. Resists cold (sometimes worn over gloves when snowshoeing)

I'm looking for a robust watch to use for cycling, kayaking, skiing, snowshoeing and weekend casual wear. I'm kind of a gadget nut and features like tide graphs and compasses do not turn me off. Crazy colors are also OK but they might look odd if I ever have to wear a G-Shock to the office .

Many thanks in advance for your advice.

I think the Riseman GW9200 fits just about all the things you want in a great looking G with a comfortable strap

You did not say if you prefer round or square shapes also if you are looking for digital or digital analog.

Ooops forgot to welcome you to the G forum

This won't really be too helpful, but pretty much any G out there will take whatever you can dish out.

I would recommend you peruse the daily threads where the members show pics of the various models in play that day. (after all, that's how I found a lot of the ones I like!)

    Good point, Jerster...

No specific preference as to case shape but sliding a chunky watch under a jacket or shirt sleeve may be a minor concern. Also no preference as to digital or ana-digi, although ana-digi may be able to display two times at once.

Two of the models I've been considering are the G9000 and the AWG101. My wrists are between 6.5-6.75 inches.

    Thanks.

as Jester said, Riseman GW9200 has almost everything you need and it's not even that expensive (around 230$).

I have GW2500 and they can display 3 times at once.

The G-7700 springs in my mind. Its light and feature-rich.
    Also covering all your needs:

    G-9000
    DW-5600E
    DW-6900

The G(W)-9200 doesnt feature a repeat timer, as the most atomic-solars.
