Finally -- over to the Public!
Needless to say, you're not supposed to photograph the play -- but I did sneak in a shaky shot of the theater before the play started:
I was coming down with a cold (and have one now), so I started to drag during the second act. But I liked the play. My wife was a bit more mixed about it. We both thought the acting was stellar, however.
Time to head home.
We walked over to a different line -- the IND -- to start the trip home. It had gotten much colder. (It has stayed that way. It is freezing here this morning.)
Many subway stops have newstands right in the station -- and many of them are open pretty late:
Waiting for the train:
Back on home turf. Walking on the Upper West Side heading home. This building has a central courtyard. There are a number of buildings like this in this neighborhood. It spent much of the 80's and 90's in pretty bad disrepair, but, I think, has been renovated and is in very good shape now. Some of the apartments within are HUGE.
More lit up trees.
There are more and more of these little shelters around bus stops. And there does not seem to be a shortage of advertisers who want to use that space.
Holiday decorations are up everywhere:
More to come, I hope.....
