    Are G-Shocks User-Serviceable?

I am fairly new to the GS world with a G2800, but I get the idea that these watches aren't designed to be thrown away when something goes wrong, as with Timex watches. It seems that each part can be replaced if needed. Kind of a modular design.

    Is that really the case?

    Thanks.

Well, changing the battery is quite easy. Parts may be available like the resin bezel and strap, for example, and you can do that yourself. However, when it comes to module malfunctioning, I suggest that you have it fixed in an authorized Casio Service Center.

For replacing the battery/gasket or other parts check the How-To section.

You can replace any part yourself. Some models are easier than others though.

Every part can be ordered from Casio, but sometimes a module will cost almost as much as an entire new watch.

It takes a little practice to get good at doing repairs. You might want to play around with a beater before experimenting on an expensive one.

I guess that you must go to your dealer or any g-shock service if you want to replace the modular.

I hate to ask this, but what exactly is the "module?" I always thought that was the CPU. Thanks.

    Module is the "machine" inside.
