G Shocks worn in place of a nice dress watch

I don't know if this has ever been brought up before, but has anyone gone to grab the "G" to put on a wrist, whilst preparing for a nice formal outing, like a wedding, and had the wife remark, "you're not going to wear that ugly thing to a wedding?. Why aren't you wearing that lovely gold watch I bought you?"

Business casual is about as dressed up as I would be to wear a G. I wear business casual to work and I've worn my 6600 on several different occasions. I'm wearing it today, actually. But I wouldn't wear it with a suit. But a more metallic G like MTG-1000 might work.
My wife isn't much of a fan of the Gs I've had either. She probably wouldn't want me to even wear mine with business casual. Oh well.

My wife doesn't care what watch I wear - and neither do I.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

I know those remarks too , nonetheless I wear my Gs. But must confess, not for my own wedding.

Fortunately those words will never be heard from my spouse. After all, three out of my five current G-Shocks came from her.

Formal occasion? Long sleeves? I just strap on my GW-5600J, and laugh at the old fogeys with their fragile dress pieces.

Sucks to be without a G.

There are lots of G Shocks that can be considered dress watches. I have a G1000H that is very stealthy and cool and what about the MTG 1000 I wear what I want. My wife does not like my DW6900WC FIFA screaming yellow though

Maybe I will wear the G1000H today

Personally, I don't think there's anything uglier than a gold dress watch

Wearing the unwanted present to the occasional wedding isn't so bad though; imagine if it was the other way round, and every day when you reached for a G-Shock in the morning she said 'Why aren't you wearing that nice Timex I bought you?'

Nope never got told to take one off - truth be told although I do often wear a G shock to work suited and booted if it was a social formal occasion I would wear either my Omega or the Casio i-range in my signature, which is a nice sleek and quite elegant piece, or perhaps my Orange Monster especially if in a blue shirt & suit.

I have worn my MTG1000 with a suit... it's fairly dressy, and by dressy I mean it is analog and metal
