    G-shopping in NYC?

My wife and I will be in New York in January. Any chance of finding Gs in downtown Manhattan? Are the new GW-7900 or even the new GWF-1000 available in US stores yet? Should I expect a discount in brick and mortar stores? (Here in Germany you can't expect a discount on "cheap" watches)
How about Macy's? We got a 11% discount card for Macy's as we booked our trip.
    Cheers,
    Micha

Haven't been to Macy's for G-Shocks, but there's also the G-Shock boutique at Tourneau time Machine on 57th Street between 6th and Madison. That's got a lot of G-Shocks and Pathfinders. Paragon Sports had more in that past, but let their inventory slip ever since Tourneau installed the boutique a few months ago.

Paragon had the reverse display 7900, and about 6 months ago had a gel Frogman. But after that one time, I've never since seen a Frogman model again at any store!

There are a lot of these little electronics shops in the City (beware, particularly, those located in tourist areas) -- and many of them have some selection of G-Shocks. It is *very* important to know the market, i.e., what you could purchase these watches for at home or online or both. With smaller shops in particular, the pricing can be, shall we say, rather elastic.

I would check out Paragon Sports near Union Square and Macy's -- which, of course, is on 34th Street at Herald Square.

I hope NYC's Macy's G-Shock collection is better than Chicago's. I've been to Water Tower Macy's (Mag. Mile) and Old Ochard Macy's (in Skokie) and they both are pretty sad. Not sure if I'll have better luck at the one on State Street, but I have a feeling I won't.

I would think there are lots of men's skate boutique shops that you can find unique G's. DQM, Upper Playground comes to mind. I dont know from experience though, Ive always wanted to visit New York. Let us know what you find!

I just got back about 2 months ago from vacationing in Manhattan. What I found are the G-Shock prices to be just dumb. Buy online.

Hi guys, I just returned. Just a heads up, Tourneau in the 57th street has the GWF-1000 available ($700)! It's an AWESOME watch and even fitted my tiny wrist, but I just couldn't get myself to spending $700 on a Casio. Unfortunately I didn't find GW-6900 or GW-7900 I was looking for

So you didn't end up picking up a new G of any kind? Would seem like a cool momento to bring back a G from the states!
Experience is what you end up with when you didn't get what you wanted.
