    G7800B-1 Owners Society

This is a great watch, I love the contrast adjustment option, the gunmetal black bezel and I love how its one of my dressier g-shocks, while still ALL digital, its classy looking and I'm wearing it as my primary these days.

so yeah man, who else loves this model?

    G7800B, not G78000B, doh!

I love it, though i don't have one (yet). usually square watches are not my cup of coffee, but ever since i saw this model i was hooked...

I have plans to purchase one in may or perhaps june, how is the timekeeping on yours so far?

Timekeeping has been perfect so far, well I've only owned the watch for 3 weeks but it's right on.

Another great feature, not on many or any other G-Shocks if the ability to make a custom memo appear on the screen.

Right now my watch reads QUANTGY, short for my company name Quantegy, it only fits 7 characters, still a fun feature.

No cons yet, although the band which is great looking is more stiff/harder than my other g-shocks.

Any ideas on how to soften the band a bit?

    It's got a similar band to the G8000, another non-standard g-shock I've been eying.

good to hear about the accuracy. non-atomic g-shock seems to be very accurate nowadays, my G-7710 doesn't gained or lost one second when it was on my arm for a whole month

if you would like to soften the strap, i recommend to take it off and boil it for 20 minutes or so. this really works and often makes quite a difference. don't worry, the resin won't suffer but it will make the material more ductile.

I'm still waiting for an all-black 7800 to arrive from Hong Kong. Everyone who owns one seems to love it, so I hope I'll love it too. I think it would look great on a pvd bracelet.

JahMush, I thought I saw a picture once of a 7800 displaying the whole day i.e. "thursday" instead of "thu". Do you know if it can do that?

just throw the strap in boiling water and leave it there for twenty minutes, no need to make a cocktail - stirred but not shaken....

Why did order it from hong kong? just curious, if its availible in the USA, what's the advantage of ordering from hong kong?

The day of the week display is WED or THU or TUE, i've not been able to change it to the entire word THURSDAY or any other day.

Where did you see a picture like you describe?
