    GA-110 Beep Question

I have a GA-110 that doesn't make a noise when I swap between modes. I know the spring is ok as it is brand new, never opened and the hourly beep works as well as the alarm. Can anyone confirm whether or not their GA-110 makes any noise when swapping between modes?

    Re: GA-110 Beep Question

No, it doesn't. Some of the ana-digis change modes silently - like the GW-2500. On the GW-2500 the reason is the little hand indicating the modes - it moves while changing modes and most of the time movement and sound don't go together on the G-Shocks. Same is true for sound and light - the display flasher doesn't flash exactly synchronized with the beep for instance - this it to avoid putting too much strain on the battery.

    Re: GA-110 Beep Question

this has befuddled me for a while, but no, the 110 simply does not make a beep when cycling through the menu. i personally love the mode beep, and i sometimes forget the 110 doesnt do this, so it's odd wearing all these other G's and then switching to a 110.

    Re: GA-110 Beep Question

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I thought this was relevant to the topic and might be the way to reach a few dedicated GA-110 owners.
I just took delivery of my third GA-110 and to my dismay I have found that it doesn't make any sounds at all.
Is there a silent mode or a way that ALL the sounds including alarms, timers, and all beeps could have been inadvertently turned off?
Thanks in advance for your help

No, that shouldn't be the case. Do the LCD digits look sluggish as they change or faint at all? If so it could be the battery. Either way the back plate will have to come off to check the sound spring is OK too. Often they are just poorly in position and careful adjustment can get it working.

    Thanks Pritch.
    Battery appears fine.
Any ideas where I could get a diagram or photographic guide of how the spring should be and what to look for?
