    Ga200-1A & GA200BW-1A: didn't get past the first impression.

I should have known since Casio has a specific line of steel G-Shocks but it didn't register like that so I decided to check out the Ga200-1A & GA200BW-1A. I didn't get much past my first impression that plastic overtly masquerading as metal screams "cheap plastic watch". It's one thing to have a colorful "plastic" watch that isn't trying to be anything more than just that but I don't think I can do these fake metal faces. It's only my opinion and I'm sure others here love them but I don't think I'd get much mileage out of these. It's too bad because I really wanted to like one or both of them.

I'll live with them for a few days and see if I warm up to either. I never want it to be said that I can't open my mind to change.

A man wearing a watch, outside of purely social functions (where, strictly speaking, a watch is not supposed to be worn), makes it clear to everyone in his purview that they are in the presence of a man who considers his time something of value, not something to be wasted.

A man wearing an ostentatiously expensive watch makes it clear to everyone in his purview that they are in the presence of a man who considers little.

I like the design of the 200 series, I have 6. It's not a great feature use watch, but for looks and telling date and time, functional and pretty.

    Which ones do you own?

Yeah, the colorful ones just look more legit, less plastic pretending to be metal. Thanks for posting pics. I actually looked at the "marine" version, nothing there pretending to be anything other than resin, and liked it but already had two white G-Shocks so I passed.

I know not this horological "Strangeness" of which you speak.

Stephen Vincent Strange, M.D is well known to me but I am unaware of any horological connections to he nor his many queer and uncanny exploits. Pray tell....
