    GEEK ALERT

Ok, this is going to sound soooooooooooooo geeky but I think it's actually cool.

The guy I sit next to at work his watch beeps on the hour every hour, I *think* it's a Seiko, I have a Rangeman 9400 obviously with atomic.

I have noticed how inaccurate non atomic watches are now, obviously mine receives a signal every night so it is literally the right time.

Few weeks ago his watch would beep on the hour and I would look down at mine and there was still 45 secs to the hour, this week his watch is beeping on the hour and I look at mine and there is still 1min 10secs until the hour.

Dunno what I'm trying to say but unintentionally seeing the results of an atomic vs a normal watch is pretty cool.

Guess I'm a geek too. I love it when all my atomics do that hourly chime or alarm at the exact same time. When I hear one is off by a few seconds, I go and see. Guess I could have worse psychoses or OCD issues, LOL

I had several G-Shocks with hourly chimes on. Since they were all off by a few seconds, they'd chime at inconsistent times. It got a little annoying so I now turn off hourly chime for watches I'm not wearing.

    Re: GEEK ALERT

You could politely inform him that from your point of view his watch run 25 second slow in just a couple of weeks. Such an accuracy is not normal compared to +-15 sec/month claimed by G-Shock. At best such an accuracy might be acceptable for Baby-G. Very nerdy way to make friend :D

Not your fault some people don't have your standards and priorities is it?
INHO the purpose for owning and keeping a watch is the CORRECT TIME.
Otherwise just strap a sundial (or a Kinetic) to your personage.Worst watch
I ever owned was a Kinetic.

    Re: GEEK ALERT

Guests over here are usually annoyed by the beeping so I try to set all the non-atomics a few seconds apart. So it's one large synchronized atomic beep and some others before and after.

Especially when having a movie night this really amuses me.

And bothers somewhat as well as the big atomic beeping concert isn't fully synchronized (you can hear a slight difference of around 0.2 seconds or so, which makes sense as the atomic timekeeping was like 22 hours prior, alas).

Can't have it all I guess (apart from starting movie night at 0100am but that's reaching, I think ).

    That's it! That's how I spot G-Shocks even when I don't see them.

We are like Dolphins, communicating through waves :D

Bonus point... its Atomic if you beep together.
