    Get a grip!

I just saw this on the main page and thought it was hilarious. Standard Gulfman...roughly $150-$180...add the "hand made" Cordovan strap...$808!! The Hipster "craft" movement is losing its mind.

I'm surprised that's been out for almost two years: Men’s File x Casio G-Shock GW-9110-1ER GULFMAN Cordovan Leather Watch

We'd probably have heard more about it if were an actual "collaboration" released by Casio -- this one's not much different than the "Lower X" collab, but at least the resin color on that matches the leather color: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f17/low...nz-646683.html

I have no problem with the strap, or what it costs for something that isn't made by robot factories in Asia. I appreciate that some things I can afford, while some things I can't, or don't want to spend the money on.
However I don't think a G-Shock is the watch that best suits this type of product. Maybe a +$5000 mechanical watch would fit the strap better.

For sure that's a mismatch and a bit ugly, but wait 'til you see this collab! My eyes hurt looking at it...

I totally agree that a luxury watch can warrant an expensive strap. With that said, even a Breitling, Omega, or Panerai strap all range in the $300-$500 range. This G has a more expensive strap than those, for a cheap looking Cordova.

    Re: Get a grip!

    wow. much handcrafted, many artisan.

no amount of shallow dof and shoddy manual focus videoing is going to make that thing look good!
it really does look like he just grabbed a G he had on hand or from a friend and whacked a bit of leather on it. completely mismatched in a cowboy boots and boardshorts kinda way, adding the ridiculous price tag just makes it embarrassing.

wonder how many theyve sold?? lol
