    Glass Top Watch Boxes

Fahrney's Pens in Washington, D.C. used to sell a watch box that held six watches and had a clear plastic window on top. The box was made by a company called "Sir Rondo"; it was manufactured from pressed paper board, I think, or something like that -- it was supposed to simulate leather or lizard skin. The thing sold for $79.

Since it was sized for more convetional watches, the slots were a bit snug for G-Shocks, but I found that a watch box with a clear plastic top was a good way to expose my solar models to sunlight and still have my window sill look reasonably neat. The window I used never had direct sunlight for a very long time, I had no fear of the watches cooking in their own box.

Sir Rondo seems to have stopped making this model. Does anyone know of any other clear topped boxes that would be good for storing solar G's and allowing them to be exposed to light even when they are "put away"?

Thanks! Great tip. It surely doesn't have to be six watches.

How about making your own watch case using arcylic. I m sure it will be cheap just that i do not know any customise shops that does this job in my area. It could be a standing watch box displaying your watches at all times. :)

I like the look of glass-topped boxes, but don't they get extremely hot inside if you leave them in the sun with the top shut?

Not mine, unless your keeping them outside in the hot burning sun, shouldnt be a problem. I keep mine on a desk my my windowsill so they get the sun, but they don't get the heat. Temperature on my Pathy says 79 degrees

    Re: Glass Top Watch Boxes

The glass ones at SteinMart that holds 6 watches and under 20 bucks if on sale regularly 29.99.

I picked up the kind that had a lid and it was on sale for 7 bucks so I picked up 5. Fits everything from my Militare Marine to JSAR.

    Hope this helps.
