    GMW-B5000 with deployment clasp

Hi - Ian here - a newbie - thanks for letting me join.

I just posted about my recent Frankenwatch GW5600HR, that I turned into a positive display by inserting a module from the sister gold version watch.

I was still a little unhappy with the display as it's greeny gold rather than grey - so I finally caved in and got a full metal GMW-B5000, the one with a resin strap. I had originally discounted this model, as I really don't like the resin strap, much preferring the bracelet.

What made this work was putting a deployment clasp onto the resin strap - an action often seen on high end watches with leather straps, but I had seen this done on a G-Shock before. Enough talking - the pics:

I'm really happy with this, gives me the comfort of the resin strap, but the fast deployment of a bracelet. Well, until Casio bring out the positive display version themselves that is!

What deployment clasp is it? Or what size is needed on a deployment clasp for this strap?
    Thx

It's a standard 20mm deployment clasp, purchased from a watch strap reseller - you will be able to find on ebay. It's a stainless steel one, I will look out for a black IP one but it works as-is.

The rubber strap makes getting the spring bar in a little fiddly, but I managed it, and it works just fine.

Hi felixgogo, I take it you found this one (or similar) description says its polished. Nice, practical mod by the way.

I thought that's a good idea - so put a spare deployment clasp on my GW-B5600-2ER. I quite like a stainless steel one as I would be really hacked off if I scratched the black ip. Used a 20mm clasp with a 20mm springbar. The strap measures at 19mm but the tiny gap is hidden with a deployment clasp, so all's good.

Have a look on Aliexpress for keener prices - USD3-4. Search for 20mm deployment buckle.
