    Gold Plating

How durable is the gold plating on G-Shocks; like the gold buttons and buckle on something like this G-Shock? I've never had a golden G before.

Can't answer the question, but it's not really gold, is it?
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

I highly doubt it. Let's call it faux-gold plating? Gold-like plating? Shiny-Orangy-yellow looking plating?

Whatever they use is pretty tough. The buttons/screws/buckle on my DW-5200C-9 were nice and so is my DW-5400C-9. Kinda depends on the amount of use the watch has seen - I've got a 5700C-9V that's got silver and gold buttons - gold around the side and silver at the end where they've been pressed over and over...

I've run across older "vintage" G's with those gold buttons on Flea-bay, and the gold-colored buttons would appear to be holding up quite well from the photos that I have seen..
