    Gold Stealth DW-6900. Help/Parts required.

    Hi guys,

i've recently been putting together some custom G-Shock's and i've got to point where i'm about to make a gold stealth watch which should look like the mock up below.

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us
The problem is that I need the gold module (DW-6900CB-1) and a black 'G' button like the one a DW-6900MS-1.

The gold module can be obtained by buying the whole watch if necessary and removing it but I can't really afford to buy the second watch simply for the 'G' button.

    The help part -

Does anyone have the parts I need and be willing to trade?

I have the modules from a pink DW-6900CB-4 and a DW-6900NB-4 which are both brand new that I could trade for the gold one.

Either 'G' buttons as well for the 'G' button I require.

Thanks (and just a note, I did post in parts thread but have had no luck there)

    Nice looking mod!!

Though I must admit, I am finding that this DW 6900 modding business is a bit of a never ending story - there always seems to be enough components left over to start another project, but it always seems necessary to buy another watch in order to obtain that particular missing component, and so it goes on.....

.......or you could always carefully remove the existing paint.

But a word of caution if you decide to paint, I would definately NOT use nail varnish / polish (or any other acetone containing paint) - whilst this seems perfectly okay for bezel lettering, I am fairly confident that this particular solvent attacks the type of plastic that the G-button is made from. Likewise, if you decide to remove the paint, I would NOT recommend nail varnish remover or any other acetone based solvent.

Agreed, and acetone will attack the bezel resin too. Keep the acetone away from the G's!

I don't fancy painting it to be honest for obvious reasons but am interested in the idea of removing the gold paint.

Has anyone tried this and can tell me how effective is it? i.e. Can you tell the paint was there, any marking?

    Thanks
