Even as the year winds down the busy people at G-SHOCK HQ are still cramming in more highly desirable G-SHOCK 30th anniversary special editions. This time the Rotterdam-based retailer Gorilli has collaborated with the brand to create the “Delfts blauw” edition timepiece.
With help from the Leyp creative agency, the collaborative design is centred around Delftware, or “Delfts blauw” in Dutch. The much prized blue and white porcelain which originated from China and helped to introduce a new production process in Europe that is still widely practiced many centuries later. Along with the Delfts blauw application of its gorilla-like emblem on an all-white Casio G-Shock DW-6900NB, this Limited edition watch is based on a white DW-6900NB based G-Shock. The 6900 watch features purple printing and comes in a special presentation box.
Gorilli derives from Guerrilla, as in Guerrilla Stores. Guerrilla stores are similar to Pop Stores, brand stores that only exist for a usually just a short, time. Gorilli specialises in exclusive higher segment street fashion, art, designer toys and lifestyle gadgets and is possibly the only place in the Netherlands where you can find Bape and BBC clothing.
All three packages were put on sale on Saturday, December 14, at Gorilli, its online store, and OntFront in Amsterdam. Gorilli also created a special Delfts blauw tile, mix tape, and graphic tee to complement the watch. But guess what, according to trusted WUS G-SHOCK Forum sources they all sold out inside of one minute. Talk about the Flying Dutchman.
