Got myself a G-9000-1VCU today. Is it an authentic watch?

    Hi guys,
    Got myself a G-9000-1VCU today. Now I have DW-290-1VSCB and G-9000-1VCU.
Just wondering if the G-9000 is an authentic one?
I searched the forum and found most of the mudman here is G9000-1VDR.
Have any idea about that "VCU" code?
    Thanks!

PS: On the box, it says G9000-1VCU.
I found a thread on a foreign website, the tag may say "G9000-1VCS".
However, I do not have the tag when I got the watch.

Don't know about the code, but the watch looks absolutely genuine.

    Thanks for your reply!
When I got the watch, I do not have a tag with it. I do have a manual and international warranty card.
It comes with a metal box too.
Anyway, I got it for $49.62, kind of a deal.

    That's an extremely good deal!
I find those mudmen to small as your excellent picture demonstrates it is the same size as a DW-290.
It does fit your wrist perfectly though.

It looks genuine to me as well.
and I find more watches with the same code in google (South American code?)

Completely genuine CASIO watch with authentic box and tags. I've not see that regional suffix before either. But it is just that--only a region indicator. Maybe there was a closeout that consisted of products from different market regions, that was bought by someone in the USA. You'd be amazed at how many times goods can change hands and even get distributed great distances.

Anyway, welcome to the G-Shock club! Great first choice. The G-9000 Mudman is a common but well regarded watch in the G-Shock line-up. You will find that comparatively, the buttons are much harder to press than on the DW-290. That is due to the full bezel cover that eliminates gaps around the buttons (to help resist mud/silt from creeping in behind the bezel).
    Deepsea_dweller likes this.
    In rotation: Citizen Attesa ATV53-2834, Eco Drives | Omega Seamaster | CASIO: TW-7000, MRG-220, RevMan, G-2000D, DW-5700ML, GW-9100 | Seiko SKA-413, SBPG001

Yeah, well, the mudman is not as large as I thought.
    It's actually a little smaller than DW290~

The price might be the lowest in history for a brand new G-9000~

I am not worrying about the code now. I found some youtube videos showing the same code~

I bought a brand new watch, by the way. Not a second hand.
And the tag is from that website. The watch I got does not have tag.

The buttons are really hard to press. And the back of the bezel has several nubs and I haven't got used to them. I have been wearing it for the past few days and feel really good ~
