    Gotta have a reason!

I'm not a collector of watches but I quite like having more than one BUT I need a good reason to purchase any watch; bit of a self-justification I guess when in reality 1 watch would probably do me.

    I have these:

GW 2000 Analogue - my 'best' and favourite watch, worn in the evenings and weekends.

G 7710 - worn during the working day; my job requires timing as I invoice by the hour / part hour + needs to be tough and fulfills my need to not really give a crap about the thing getting damaged.

GW 9000A Muddie - hardly worn this as I loaned it to a mate for triathlon training and he wants to buy it off me - which he can. So this one is going. It was supposed to be my climbing & hiking watch but it was so nice I couldn't bear to hammer it.

Rolex Explorer - family heirloom, not my cup of tea really but I wear it to family events such as weddings & funerals etc.

    ***

Sticking with the G's I'll be down to my GW 2000 'best' watch and my G 7710 hack but am struggling to come up with a reason to buy another.

    Any suggestions most welcome?

If you haven't had a classic G you're missing out, in my opinion. Anyway, maybe you don't need another G. Have a look at the ProTreks if you want a truly new experience. Try a PRG-40 or a PRW-2000. Both are much more legible than any G and have additional weathery features, and are just great fun
The Search function on vBulletin forums isn't very smart. If you want to search for a complete string in the G-Shock forum, or for posts which include multiple words, use Google, and enter site:forums.watchuseek.com/f17 into the search box. Then use normal google syntax after that to enter your search.

great post - you want reasons for buying watches? here are a few:

    - I like it
    - it has a good module with nice features
    - it has the same module like 5 other watches I have but in a different case
    - I had a wisdom tooth removed
    - I had another wisdom tooth removed
    - it was on sale
    - I needed one in a different color to match that particular t-shirt
    - I needed one in a different color to match my new shoes
    - it's already a month since I bought the last watch
    - I had a tax refund
    - I passed a test at university
    - I got my masters degree
    - it's my birthday/weddingday/christmas/easter...
    - I need a new watch to take on holiday
    - I need a watch for work
    - I need a watch for sports
    - I need a watch for weekends
    - I need a watch for watching a particular movie
    - I need a watch because my favourite actor wore it

I could go on like that a bit more but I think you get the point

    Greetings, Sedi
    Cheers

    Re: Gotta have a reason!

    it just came over me.

But to be a little more helpful here. I think some of the following might be a good addition to the collection:
    - GW-9200 (still one of the best multiband-6 models)
    - G-8000 - very good module
    - G-7900 - also a "function-monster"
    - DW-5000SL - affordable screwback-model with classic design
    - G-7800B - for me one of the prettiest G-Shocks with a good module

if you wanna try out the Pathfinders I think the PAW-500T might be a good choice.
But to be honest: You don't need another. The G-7710 is one of my favourites too because it has one of the best modules around and a loud alarm. The GW-2000 is a very good analogue model. So you got all the bases covered really.

Would it help to have permission from a woman? If so, you've got it.

Sedi - thanks for your input. First list very good! Will take a look at some of the other watches you mentioned as i am not familiar with all of them.

I agree re G 77** what a ridiculously good watch esp' at the price point. As I'm not bothered by tide and moon functions it does most things I need.
