    GR8900A-1er bezel ring material

Hi all, I just realised the bezel of the 8900 is only half covered with resin. What material is the uncovered bezel ring made of? Plastic or steel?
Attached pic points in red to the "bezel ring".

That's an aluminium insert. You need to be a bit careful with the this bit, it's not really fragile but strong impacts do cause dents. Look carefully in the pic below and you can see couple of dents near the Mode and Adjust text on my 8900.

Is that actually aluminum? I'm curious because many other models use a polished or IP-coated stainless steel inner bezel, and Pacparts' parts listings show them as "bezel, SS" -- but that model just shows "bezel."

I was a little surprised when I started switching the bezels from my MTG-(M)900 and GW-500 models -- I expected the inner bezels to be aluminum and was afraid of accidentally bending them, but the steel is surprisingly strong, rigid and hard to bend the wrong way.

Mike, I am not absolutely sure, and I don't know to cross-check the same, but Casio official page does mention that the bezel insert is made of aluminium. Apparently its not as strong as steel either, as it did deform a bit on impact as you can see in the pic above.

Thanks -- it certainly sounds like that one IS aluminum, then!
