    Grime on G-Shock

I soak my G-Shock on Palmolive. When I rinse it, there are grime residues on the bands and bezel. Any other tip to clean beside soaking with Palmolive?

    1) Switch to Dawn.
    2) Scrub gently with an old toothbrush.
    3) Rinse thoroughly in fresh water.
    4) Towel dry.
    5) Repeat as often as necessary.

    Good luck.

I would say soak it in distilled water, for all we know the residue is hard water, or soap residue from the Palmolive. I would also never soak my watch in soap detergrent, that can't be good for natural oils in the plastic/resin.

Dawn is the way to go.

I use Dawn to clean vintage chainsaw cases and parts. If it get a 30 year old Stihl clean, it can get your G-Shock clean.

A toothbrush or a brush helps. I just use a dishwashing brush from Ikea and Method foaming dish soap. Gets all of my watches squeaky clean...well except for seawater residue. Nothing seems to get that off.

I'm genuinely curious. What are you people doing with your watches or jobs that get it that dirty, much less still has some sort of residue after cleaning it with some sort of soap that somehow Dawn is the answer?

Yes, this has to be one of the most Watch fouling professions.
I’m a very decent cook in my own kitchen and I’ve learned NOT to wear my Watches when I’m at work there.
