Gshocks with "The G" on the caseback

I've noticed some Gshocks with "The G" engraved on the caseback. Is there any rhyme or reason behind this designation? Was it used only during a certain time in Gshock history? Was it used only on certain models? Here's an example but I know I've seen it on others:

My GW5600J-1, purchased in Japan (2008), has this caseback.

I had a GW-1200J-1A similar to this image I took from the internet. These released in 2001 or 2002 and my love for the metal G's began. These were the first I had seen with "The G" marking on the case back.

So that's 3 GW's with "The G" on the caseback, yet I have many GW's without it. I can't help but wonder what criteria it might need to get "The G" stamp?

I am not sure if this is the reason but these early versions of the GW series had a "G" appear in a display window when the radio wave reception was good. If no reception no "G" was seen.
If I am wrong about this please chime in anyone.

Re: Gshocks with "The G" on the caseback

"The G" was a marketing slogan for a CASIO G-Shock line that lasted a few years. Not sure how many different models were produced. But it was associated with a slightly larger version of the 5600. The G-5600J was the first and is still made today, same case back. And back when CASIO first ran that "The G" campaign, they had a few other models adopt it as well.

    Acccording to Sjors:

"Waveceptor" has been retired from G-Shock models, but I think CASIO occasionally uses it in some non-G watches.

The GW-1200J was an interesting model. It looks astonishingly similar to an MRG-2100. But wow... this watch weighs a ton, coming in at 135g!

I like "the vaguest series Casio ever produced" comment lol. The GW1200 is strikingly similar to the MRG2100. Just like the GW1600 is to the MRG3000. Anyway, thanks for the info xevious!
