    GST B200 - Solar charging

    Hello Guys,

So, I'm fairly new to the forum and to the world of Gshocks.

Last week I purchased the GST B200, which I'm loving so far, however for the last 3 days its been sitting on my window sill but the watch not gone up to full charge. It's stuck on the marker before "F", doesit require more time? or is there a possible issue?

Its been sunny here in London all weekend BTW.

Put it outside in direct sun to get a full charge. May require a couple of days.

My full metal square (gmw-b5000) is slow to charge. Seems normal. Window light is good, but not nearly the same as pure outdoor light. Windows filter too much.

I would just wear it. I got a new Protrek last weekend and it managed to get to high by being on my wrist. Slap it on and enjoy it and let it do its thing.

Thanks guys, guess I need to wear it outdoors to get some outdoor sun on it.

Had it on this morning for a short while, but then had to do some manual work, so took it off and left it on the window.

    Cheers

Patience young Padawan and wear it in good health.
It will go to "F" after a while.

I seem to think that it’s the UV content that does most of the work and the glass of a window filters a lot of this out so it’s best charged outside. IMO all solar manufacturers exaggerate how fast their watches charge and give people the impression that half an hour on the windowsill will lead to a full tank.

    So true!
I recently aquired my first solar (primarily was always into autos) and had it on the window sill for 2 days of sunny weather, and the level barely budged. I just came back from a 30min walk outside after lunch, and now it's almost full!

don't leave your watch in a window or outside for too long, the watch will overheat.
    if outside, wear it
if inside, put it in a glass of water
the watch will overheat if left in direct sunlight for too long inside or out.
man, these guys on here give bad advice.

Wait what? How hot is your house that you need to put your watch in water? That makes zero sense.
