    Gulfman Question

Does it make sense for me to purchase this watch even if i'm not a sailor, seaman, fisherman or what have you?

    Re: Gulfman Question

Depends on the answers to these questions:
1 - do you need to know the tides in your area?
2 - do you need to know the phase of the moon?
If not, then you are probably better off with a Mudman. Both are great watches.

    Re: Gulfman Question

I don't think there is anything wrong with buying a watch that has specific features that never get used. I bet 9 out of 10 Frogman owners don't go diving on a regular basis, if at all. Aesthetics! Comfort! Coolness! Rarity! The only reasons we need right?

    Re: Gulfman Question

Does it make sense to purchase 99 aditional G shocks even thou your first one still works just fine?

No it does not ... but we see model that we like and we go for it...

Same with this one... don't think "does this feature or that feature make sense" question is "do you like it or not?"... if you like it and can afford it... GO FOR IT!

    Re: Gulfman Question

    i buy G-Shocks even though:

    - i have a desk job and i don't usually beat up my watches all the times (so shock resistant is useless)
    - i don't dive and the deepest i would go is the bottom of a pool (so is maybe 10 ft the most) (so WR200M is useless)
    - i don't need on the dot time keeping (so atomic is useless)
    - i only wear 1 watch at a time (so the rest of the 30 something watches are useless)

we buy G-Shocks cause we like them, now that alone makes perfect sense to me

    Re: Gulfman Question

I bought a G-9100 Gulfman just because I like it. I don't need moon and tide graphs, but I do like them. It's a really nice G-Shock all round, so if you like it by all means buy it.

    Re: Gulfman Question

I never really even considered the gulfman, nor understood how it could display the moon and tide graph. Until Sijors put a photo of the gulfman in the early evening with the moon in the background. I was really impressed by the moon graph's accuracy on the gulfman. Brilliant.

    Re: Gulfman Question

The important thing is that the watch possess features that you like to think you'd use...

...if you were far more adventurous.
