    GW-1700TDJ

2-3 weeks ago I picked up a GW-1600TDJ. This was a departure from my usual square and classic MRG fare, but I took a chance and I love the watch:

I'm not sure exactly what "TDJ" stands for but since the bracelet and maybe other parts of the case are titanium, that probably explains the "T". I did some research and noticed that there were other TDJ's, a GW600, GW700, GW1200, and GW1700, also there was a Lineage and Oceanus TDJ. I researched all of them and only one grabbed my attention enough, and I thought it would be a good companion for my GW1600TDJ: the GW1700TDJ. I was fortunate to find one in great condition for under a c-note:

Like my 1600, I'm assuming it will be lightweight for a metal watch because of the titanium, and I prefer that. I also like that it has 3 digitial windows instead of 4 so it seems less cluttered. The 1700 was introduced a year after the 1600, around 2006. Really looking forward to it! Here's another pic and some info from our friends at mygshock on both the 1600TDJ and 1700TDJ:

Took a week to get from customs in NYC to my house 3 hours away. Finally!

The bezel and band are titanium, the back is stainless, and there is some plastic thrown in as well around the sides like an MTG has. I brushed up the bracelet today to get some of the scratches out that you see in the previous posts. It's a keeper.

This seems like the predecessor to the AWG-M100 series mixed with MTG. I found a GW-1700BTJ on the Bay. Not sure what the difference is between BTJ and TDJ. Still, it's a great looking watch that has a feeling of the early MRG series. Congratulations on finding this!

Thanks kevio. The AWG 500's came out the same year, 2006, and besides the fact that they're resin, look too be identical function-wise. I think the BTJ is black IP :)

That was my guess as well as they look almost identical except for the black IP.
