    Question GW-3000 × GW-4000: what's the difference?

They look very similar, but what's the difference between them?
    Cheers!

They are identical in features, only cosmetics separate them. The 4000 has a slightly larger face and case, but is lower in height... this does make it wear a bit larger than the 3000. The strap on the 4000 seems more supple too and as you can see from the photos the dial layout is a bit different too.

    Some comparos:

Actually the cases. The "operating systems" are the same. The 4000 introduced the case and bands for the A1000.
If you look up JonL's thread something like "incoming gw4000-1a3" and he has some great photos comparing the 3000 (smaller radius but taller) to the 3500 to the 4000 (larger radius but shorter). Let me know if it is hard to search (i'm on a phone right now otherwise i'd give you a link).
Yes, I am OCD. What gave it away?

@Chrisek. Could you please be kind enough to give me the link to the above. I could not find it. Many thanks.

    Thanks guys (specially Jon)!
I'm not one to want everything under the sun, my buying decisions between two similar models are based on functions or special features. So if both offer basically the same thing, I can choose whichever one is more pleasing to my eye. However, the 3000 looks "more different" from the A1000 then the 4000...
    Cheers!

I notice that both models have the "tough movement" but the 4000 is listed as additionally having "triple G resist". Are these synonymous or is this an additional feature of the 4000? If they are basically the same, why such a large price difference? Thanks

Yes you are right - the 4000 does have that Triple G resist, and the 3000 does not. That alone shouldn't be the reason for the price difference - the 4000 is a much newer model, is in demand and might also help explain its higher price. Don't forget a couple 4000 models never were released outside Japan so the Japanese domestic models will always be more expensive than the ones released by Casio US. The green one for example is Japan only and therefore priced much higher than the orange one sold in the US.

The green one was also given a European release a couple of months later so it is now also available in Europe. It retails for about 300 Euro or $385 here in Europe.

For me that makes a (tangible) difference.
