    GW 3000B-1A vs 3000BD-1A

    Hello Folks,

I have owned bulky G-Shocks in the past, but these 3000 models looks much nicer to me. I am in need of a resin based, indestructible watch right now.

I can't figure out the difference between these two watches though, except for the face color. I printed out the specs from the Casio store, and they are identical.

Can someone enlighten me as to why there is $100+ difference?

    Many Thanks,
    R

OK - that one was easy - thanks.

Now why is the 3000M-4AJF (the orange resin band) back in the $350 range?

Is this because it is not released in the US? On ebay I noticed that they were onyl available from Japan.

    Thanks!

Seems the GW3000M was a limited release in the US. It appeared on a few online dealers last month, and any priced below SRP were sold out very quickly ... and all others seemed to disappear soon after. There are plenty to be found from Japanese exporters, but you'll have to pay the JDM price unfortunately.

Also, if you search with the model number GW-3000M-4AJF, that's the model for the Japan domestic market. The model number for US would be GW3000M-4A. I know that "JF" is a small distinction, but including it in a search will lead to the expensive version.

Is the band (resin vs metal) the only difference betweent 3000b and 3000bd? I mean are their cases constructed by exactly the same materials (besides colour difference) ?

It doesn't seem reasonable to ask for $100 more just for that black metal band, whose black colour will later fade into greyish ...

There is nothing to fade to grey. The black IP will eventually wear off on some parts but thats it. IMO a metal band is worth the additional cost (yet not justified), they wear very comfortable.

It's a Great watch. I wore mine for almost a week straight when I got it. Sure would like a metal band for it though. I think it's a nice enough
    watch to deserve that bracelet.

You won't be sorry! I received mine this past Monday, and haven't removed it since.

I also happen to be a Breitling and Ball Watch Co. fan! I noticed those as well, in your sig.

Enjoy! It's a really great watch!
