    GW 4000 Bracelet Change

Had my GW4000 for almost 2 years now. Still love the watch and it gets decent wrist time. Just wanted to try the bracelet on the watch to upgrade it a little

@ chrisek: thanks for implanting the idea in my head

So here is how i did it:

    First you need this

    or this

and i definitely need this as well

    Then you should have these

Size: 10.2 KBName: L1050860.jpg

Size: 11.4 KB

    and of course this one

Size: 11.7 KB

First unscrew the strap. Use a decent allen key, otherwise you will mess the screw heads...

After that things should look like this

Now it's time to fix the bracelet. Insert the two tiny metal tubes at the sides of the Bracelet like shown. You absolutely need the resin spacer to attach to the case. Them 2 as well as the tiny metal tubes come separately, so don't forget to order them

    should look like this then

Size: 11.0 KB

Time to resize the bracelet. Can be done with a small screwdriver as well. Just push the spring bars in direction of the arrow on the bracelet. Had to take out one link on each side.

After that i attached the clasp to the bracelet again at the drills for the micro adjustment

And you're done. Nice, eh? Ahem, the watch, not me, of course....

    Hope this was helpful.
    Enjoy

Don't suppose you still have the part numbers/supplier for this job?

Sorry, haven't been around for a long time. Business just kept me away from posting and even following.
    Got the bracelet from here:
Casio Uhrenarmband für GW-4000D-1A, Metall, schwarz

the end links and tubes come seperately:
    Casio Cover-/Endpieces für Metall-Uhrenarmband G-Shock GW-4000D
    and:
    Casio Cover-/Endpieces für Metall-Uhrenarmband G-Shock GW-4000D

hope, this was of any help. isn't a cheap mod anyway, i'm afraid.

    Cheers

Hi, great review! Can you tell me the width of the open end of the bracelet (or adapter pieces)? I can get a bracelet like this and wanna know if it fits GW-A1100, 1000 and GA-1000. These are already fitted with the rings etc and it looks to me like they all have the same width for bracelet attachment, so all I need to do is take off the original and put on the metal replacement....
    Thanks in advance!

Lots of G-Shock, Seiko, Deep Blue, plus various others. The collection changes so fast, my signature can't keep up anymore

sorry, i am afraid i am to late but i was just taking the measurements anyhow, in case someone else would like to know:

the open end of the bracelet is 15 mm
the resin endpiece is 13 mm approx.

i really should follow more often, sorry again for bein' late .

    Cheers

technique works also for the GA-1000. I swaped my metal strap of a GW-4000D to a GA-1000. Temporarily until a full set ( metal strap + endpieces + tubes ) have arrived from a forum member.
